Light pulses created by our laser selectively destroy the follicle of hair by targeting melanin (color). The pigment in the hair follicle absorbs the light pulse generated by the laser, damaging the the follicle just enough to prevent hair regrowth without harming the surrounding skin. Our laser technicians will adjust the settings of the laser based on your hair and skin type to provide the most effective, safe, and permanent results!

We use the Candela GentleMax Pro, which combines the wavelengths of the Alexandrite laser (optimal for skin types I-III) and ND-Yag laser (optimal for skin types IV-VI), allowing us the capability of treating the widest range of skin types. The GentleMax Pro has been approved by the FDA.

Laser hair removal is permanent hair reduction. Some patients may require maintenance treatments once a year after completing a full treatment. The laser targets and destroys your current hair follicles, but new follicles can develop with time due to hormonal changes. We offer packages with and without an annual touch-up option.

This will depend on the area being treated as well as your hair and skin type. You may need anywhere from 8 to 12 sessions and potentially touchups on a yearly maintenance level thereafter to achieve optimal results.

You should schedule your treatments every 6-8 weeks apart to maximize effectiveness based on your hair re-growth cycle.

• Avoid any direct sun exposure to the area you’ll be treating for 2-4 weeks prior

• Avoid spray tans a week prior to your appointment

• Do not wax, pluck, thread, or perform any other epilation method for at least 4 weeks beforehand

• It is recommend that you cease use of retinoids 2 weeks prior to your treatment

• If you have a history of the herpes simplex virus I or II, you should take your prophylactic antiviral therapy medication prescribed by your doctor 3 days leading up to your treatment, the day of treatment, and the day after to reduce the chance of a breakout.

• 24 Hours prior to your appointment:

• Avoid elevated temperatures from hot tubs or saunas

• Shave the area to be treated 12-24 hours in advance of your session

• Avoid the sun for at least 2 weeks and after that apply 30 SPF or greater containing zinc oxide or titanium dioxide

• For the first 24 hours after treatment:

• Do not apply self-tanning lotion to the area of treatment

• Do not submerge the treatment site in hot water - swimming pool, bathtub, hot tub, etc.

• Rest and avoid any activity that makes you sweat or overheat - working out, saunas, etc.

• For underarm treatment, do not wear antiperspirant until the morning following your session. Deodorant without antiperspirant is OK

• It is best to wait to apply makeup until the following day

• Avoid applying creams to the area of treatment

• The treated area may feel like a sunburn for a few hours following the treatment

• There can be swelling of each hair follicle of the treatment area for up to 2 hours, and redness in the area for up to 2-3 days.
